Delivered at Place Unloaded (DPU)

Delivered at Place Unloaded (DPU)

Delivered at Place Unloaded (DPU) is an Incoterm indicating that the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to a specified destination and unloading them at the buyer's premises.

Delivered at Place Unloaded (DPU) is an incoterm wherein the seller bears all costs and risks until the goods are unloaded at the designated location at the destination. The transfer of risk occurs when the unloading process is completed. Import clearance and any applicable local taxes or import duties become the responsibility of the buyer.

DPU is distinctive as it is the only incoterm that obliges the seller to handle the unloading process for delivery fulfillment. The term DPU, "Delivered at Place Unloaded," was formerly known as DAT, representing "Delivered at Terminal," before the release of the 2020 incoterm version.
